Kristen Carstensen

Marriage & Family Therapist Associate

she/her/hers

Happy Valley Office

Kristen is a compassionate marriage and family therapist dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and families through their unique challenges. Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance from Oregon State University in 2002, she developed a foundational understanding of holistic health. In September 2024, she earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University.

With a systemic lens, Kristen emphasizes the interconnectedness of relationships and the broader context in which they exist. She specializes in Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy, helping clients identify their strengths and rewrite their stories. Kristen works extensively with individuals facing ADHD/ADD, depression, anxiety, codependency, and relationship conflicts.

Believing that our physical, mental, and emotional systems are intertwined, Kristen advocates that changing one aspect can lead to transformations in all areas. She fosters a therapeutic environment that promotes curiosity, trust, and mutual respect, empowering her clients to learn new skills, heal from past experiences, and achieve greater alignment in their lives.

Kristen is committed to guiding her clients on their journeys toward personal growth, improved communication, and healthier relationships. Through her empathetic approach, she inspires hope and facilitates meaningful change, helping individuals and families thrive.

Supervised for licensure by Charles Joel Taylor, LPC.
